About Abbie
Born in Tucson to a New Yorker and a Cuban, Abbie Kozolchyk was never particularly surprised to find herself drawn to both New York City, where she worked in publishing for 25 years, and Latin America, where she's spent much of her travel writing life. Then again, whatever part of the planet her assignments have taken her to, she's never met a country she didn't like—the most recent examples being Senegal, Madagascar and Estonia.
She left her last magazine staff job to write a book for National Geographic, and now freelances for a variety of publications.
