About Dave
Dave Hannigan is a Corkman who has somehow been stranded on the north shore of Long Island for more than two decades. He writes a weekly column explaining American sports culture to the readers of the Irish Times while teaching European history at Suffolk County Community College, often regaling long-suffering students with tall travel tales like the time he crossed the Sea of Marmara. He is currently planning to hike Hadrian’s Wall, mostly so he can finally stop telling people he’s planning to hike Hadrian’s Wall.
