About Emma
My love for travel began with a round-the-world trip that never really ended. I loved Central and South America but it was Sri Lanka that made the biggest impression on me as I ended up living there for 16 years before moving back to the UK in 2019. Sri Lanka's beaches, national parks, rainforests, mountains and tea estates were always a joy to explore.
From Sri Lanka, work trips took me across Asia (Borneo was the first of many guidebooks I worked on) and to Australia and Africa. For me, there's nothing more exciting than arriving at a new destination, finding your feet and heading out to try the local food. I also review hotels for a living and one of my passions is seeking out new and unique places to stay.
