Fontaineblhostel

Fontainebleau

Housed in an erstwhile Catholic girl's school (1854), this is an invaluable hideaway for climbers and campers, especially if you don't have a car. The six-bunk dorms may be simple, but there are crashpads and mountain bikes for rent, a kitchen, guidebooks for sale, and camping in the garden. Several good bouldering areas are a mere 30-minute walk from the hostel.

Located in a small village 15km southwest of Fontainebleau, the hostel can be reached by bus direct from the train station (20 minutes) on the Avon–Malesherbes route.
