La Terrasse Rouge

Top choice in St-Émilion

Knowing foodies adore this spectacular vineyard restaurant, born out of Jean Nouvel's designer revamp of Château La Dominique's wine cellars, 5km north of St-Émilion. Chefs work with small local producers to source the seasonal produce used in their creative cuisine. Oysters are fresh from Cap Ferret, caviar comes from Neuvic in the Dordogne, and the wine list is naturally extraordinary.

Dining on the uber-chic terrace overlooking a field of dark-red glass pebbles – one of several contemporary art installations on the wine-producing estate – and a sea of vine beyond is nothing short of sublime. Watch for the monthly cooking classes held here, built around lunch and »åé²µ³Ü²õ³Ù²¹³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô (tasting) of two St-Émilion wines. Advance reservations essential.
