Tempio di Castore e Polluce

Ancient Rome

In the centre of the Roman Forum, three Corinthian columns are all that survive from the Tempio di Castore e Polluce, also known as the Tempio dei Dioscuri. The temple, dedicated to the heavenly twins Castor and Pollux, was built in 484 BC to celebrate the defeat of the Latin League in 496 BC.
