Maneki-neko Museum

Hiroshima Region

This quirky homemade museum houses hundreds of the ornamental beckoning cats that wave you into shop entrances all over Japan, dating from the Meiji era (1868鈥1912) to modern day. There isn't much else to it, but it's a must for cat fans. From the passage to the left of the lower ropeway station, walk straight up and to the left.
