Michelin-starred Lisbon chef Henrique Sá Pessoa's venture into Príncipe Real may seem obvious (trans-Iberian tapas) but in reality Spain and Portugal don't often share more than the peninsula. Washing down tapiscos (Spanish tapas and Portuguese petiscos – get it?) with traditional vermouth never felt so novel.

Highlights on the small plates side include a wonderful vinaigrette-marinated bacalhau and La Bomba de Lisboa (fried mashed potato balls with alheira sausage, topped with a spicy sauce). Heartier winners like the perfectly seared tuna loin and crockery-served shrimp ²¹Ã§´Ç°ù»å²¹ (a porridge-like bread 'soup') top off a fun night at this casual and cool choice.
