Waikiki

Waikiki’s original luxury hotel, this pink Spanish-Moorish-style landmark is loaded with vintage opulence, which is kept relevant by continuous subtle upgrades. The historic section (1927) of the aristocratic ‘Pink Palace’ maintains its classic appeal, although you may prefer the modern high-rise tower for rooms with ocean views and rooms with large windows.

Spa suites are adorned in carved teak, bamboo and mosaic glass, with cabana daybeds on the lanai to help you unwind. The hotel offers free tours of its extensive art collection and historical displays. Enjoy the elegant common areas with their pictures from a time when Waikiki was the height of genteel style. The gardens are a tropical fantasy. One off-note, under management by Marriott, the hotel's extra charges and fees have proliferated (the resort fee is $38, valet parking is $40 etc).
