Unlike the spit-shined, well-oiled breweries elsewhere in Asheville, the grungier Wedge in the River Arts District is happy to keep things edgy. The beers are excellent – especially the Iron Rail IPA – but it’s the fairy-lit outdoor patio, packed with convivial locals and their dogs, that gives it a one-up on fellow taprooms. Food trucks nightly.
