Flying Squirrel

Chattanooga

A neighbor to the South's hippest hostel (same owners), Flying Squirrel is at its heart a very cool bar (21 and over only, except for Sunday brunch), but its locally sourced small-plate takes on fusion comfort food make for mighty fine pub grub – pork-belly fried rice, fried-chicken bao (Chinese steamed buns) and chocolate-hazelnut cheesecake, to name a few.

Nineteen taps are devoted to mostly regional craft beer, and the cocktails shine as well – try a Ms Beauregarde (cucumber-infused gin, crème de violette, lemon and lavender syrup; $8).
